Environment description: Cool, moist northeast-running stream valley; mesic, mixed deciduous forest; along stream edge. No slope with a western aspect. Rocks.

Narrative
Tree; multi-stemmed; 13 meters in height; 40 cm DBH. Smooth, grey bark. Opposite leaves, pinnately compound, 40 cm long, mostly 9 leaflets, rachis reddish and grooved on top. Fruit: samaras with distinct twist, 4 cm long.
