Environment description: Growing amoung Junipers and local shrubs (reminds me of mountain mahogany). Soil is shallow but fertile, mostly decomposed granite and shale. Valley is glacial in origin.
Comment: Seeds are much smaller than many strawberry seeds. Out of season, only a few berries were found. The area is a jailoo (pronouned j-eye-low) meaning intensively grazed for 3-4 months by sheep, cows and horses every year.
