Locality: Alabama, Randolph County, Almond Granite Outcrop: From Birmingham, follow U.S. Route 280 east to Alexander City, AL. Turn left and follow Alabama Route 22 ENE to Wadley, AL turn left on Alabama Route 77 for approximately 3 miles to extensive granite outcroppings on both sides of the road. Growing in part shade to sun among rocks above the creek at the base of the granite bald. The site appears to be very dry seasonally. Mixed deciduous and evergreen woodland.
