Barfuss & Till did not consider Tillandsia cyanea Linden ex K. Koch to be validly published and published Wallisia cyanea as a replacement name (nom. nov.) for T. lindenii K. Koch, which would make their name illegitimate because T. morreniana Regel provides the next earliest available epithet; however, T. cyanea was validly published in 1867 and although Barfuss & Till did not specify it as the basionym, they provided a full citation (Shenzhen ICN Art. 41.5) and their publication of W. cyanea as a nom. nov. is correctable to a comb. nov. with a legitimate basionym (Shenzhen ICN Art. 41.6 & Art. 6.14)
