Environment description: Growing on a 45 degree slope facing southeast, rich hardwood forest, duff over granite. Associated Plants: Acer rubrum, Quercus, Kalmia latifolia, Liriodendron styraciflua, Vaccinium stamineum, V. pallidifolium and Rubus argutus.
Comment: Tip rooting. Plant 1.5 m tall.
