Narrative
The former Heiny Nursery in Brawley, Calif, is located in an arroyo near the NW corner of the town. There are many derelict date palms of unknown provenance growing; most are in poor shape with no fruit. A few do have fruit. Seeds were collected at random from the ground. Germinated and planted for observation. (RRK, 09/2006)
