Environment description: In flat woods on sand. Surrounding habitat damaged by hurricanes. Large trees down and undergrowth recovering. Growing with lacnanthes trutoria (favorite food of wild hogs), palmetto, Endropogon virginianum, sedge and Vitis.
Comment: Plant 3 m tall. Beautiful red exfoliating bark on substantial stem, 6 cm in diameter. Selection of pure diploid swamp highbush blueberry. Open Pollinated seed collected from one plant.
