This accession is not well documented. Descriptions of P. polyandra can be found in:
Ding et al. 1984. A new species of Poncirus from China. Acta Botanica Yunnanica 6:292-293. (in Chinese)
Duan. 1990. Primary study of Fuming evergreen trifoliate orange (P. trifoliata Raf.) [sic]. Proc. Intl. Citrus Symposium, Guangzhou, China, Nov. 1990.
This sp. is said to be smaller than the normal P. trifoliata and to be evergreen rather than deciduous. Inventory at the Repository is in the GH, so no firm observations can be recorded at this time. Note: preliminary pathogen testing of RRUT 178 was positive for CTV. Thus, P. polyandra does not appear to be resistant to CTV.
ISSR analysis (2001, cooperative with Mikeal Roose) revealed that this accession was different from the two seedlings that germinated from RSD 1998001. It was not possible at that time to determine whether or not one seedling was nucellar nor why they differed from RRUT 178. All P. polyandra differed from the other trifoliate accessions by ISSR markers. (RR Krueger, 2006-06)
