Pedigree
Description:
Southern Iowa Germplasm was developed by bulking samples followed by a regeneration cycle executed at the University of Northern Iowa Tallgrass Prairie Center where plots were separated via distance of circa 1,500 feet from other Liatris aspera plots. Germplasm was regenerated again at the USDA Elsberry Plant Materials Center in Elsberry, Missouri following the same isolation protocol of 1,500 feet. Original seed was collected from remnant prairies in the southern one-third of counties in Iowa.
