Environment description: Full shade in mixed deciduous and evergreen woodland. Narrow band of moist to wet, but well drained, area along the Panther Creek and in seep areas.

Associated species: Acer rubrum, Angelica sp., Aster sp., Betula alleghaniensis, Actaea podocarpa, Diphylleia cymosa, Ageratina altissima, Hamamelis virginiana, Hydrangea arborescens, Lobelia sp., Polystichum acrostichoides, Smilacina racemosa, Thalictrum sp. and Tsuga canadensis
Comment: Common abundance. Deciduous herbaceous plants growing in several concentrated groups of 15 to 30 individuals.
