Locality: Numerous samples originally acquired from native prairie remnants within the northern section of three tiers of counties located in Iowa. A total of 15 sites were sampled representing 8 counties including Pocahontas (3 sites), Butler (3 sites), Chickasaw, Howard (2 sites), Buena Vista, Cerro Gordo (2 sites), Fayette (2 sites), Plymouth.

Description:
Northern Iowa Germplasm was developed by bulking samples followed by a regeneration cycle executed at the University of Northern Iowa Tallgrass Prairie Center where plots were separated via distance of circa 1,500 feet from other Gentiana andrewsii plots. Original seed was collected from remnant prairies in the northern one-third of counties in Iowa.
