The literature states that Parthenium argentatum (Guayale) can be found in the limestone bajadas and hillsides of the Chihuahuan Desert of southwest Texas. This is exactly what we observed. Few P. argntatum sites were found driving along the highway. We did not drive on anyones private property looking for Guayale except for the abandon Firestone companies Guayule testing grounds. Parthenium confertum and Parthenium hysterophurus was found, but plants were limited to almost endangered.
