Locality: Along path to top of outcrop in old granite quarry. From Taylorsville, go NE on Black Oak Ridge Road, then E on NC 1415, then E on NC 1427 (Rocky Face Road), then SE on NC 1426, then 0.1 mile SE of Rocky Face Baptist Church, Alexander Co.

Environment description: Very large population. Scattered along granite rocks up a slope, plants along granite, a few in the cracks.
Comment: Population of thousands. Just past peak flowering; good seed set. No rust or disease. Naturalized population established in the 1960's.
