Locality: Collected at 17 km on Borjomi Bakuriani road, near the town of Bakuriani in the Kartli province, Georgia (Collector's notes).

Environment description: Population contained approximately 500 individual plants; was occasional and irregular. Size of the site was 4000 square meters, 12 degrees slope with W aspect (Collector's notes).

Comment: Collected from site 2. T. caucasicum is growing in understory of artificial pine forest (Pinus nigra, introduced), which is planted along the road and forms dense stands (Collector's notes).

Narrative
Perennial 20-50 cm tall herb. Stem spreading or decumbent, branched, pubescent. Stipules lanceolate, pubescent. Basal leaves with long petioles, 10-12 cm long. Upper leaves almost sessile. They possess three oblong or lanceolate pubescent leaflets. Head is oblong cylindrical, 25-40 mm in diameter, flowers on short peduncle. Calyx tube has strongly expressed veins. Teeth are linear with three veins. One of them is twice as long as the calyx tube, the others are as long as the tube. Corolla pale yellow, 16-18 mm long. After anthesis it becomes brownish. Fruit one seeded. Reproductive period from May to August. Grows on meadows, forest edges and shrublands up to upper montane belt.
