Environment description: About 15 away from wet ditch, 30 feet from highway. Growing on southwest side of mild slope; woods with maples and oaks nearby. Growing among grasses, weeds, Achillea, thistle, Solidago canadensis, Aster.

Narrative
Plants 1.5 to 2 feet tall, very long and narrow leaves, very pubeschent stems and leaves. Leaves 1 inch wide and up to 4 inches long. Much basal growth, good branching, some redness to stem, many plants still in flower. Population of 30 plants, 4 plants sampled. Similar patches of Rudbeckia hirta seen about every 5 minutes going 65 mph along highway for 15 minutes.
