Locality: Numerous samples originally acquired from native prairie remnants within the northern section of three tiers of counties located in Iowa. A total of 28 sites were sampled representing 20 counties including Chickasaw (3 sites), Floyd (2 sites), Wright, Franklin, Kossuth (2 sites), Winneshiek, Palo Alto (2 sites), Clay, Cherokee, Buena Vista, O’Brien (2 sites), Sioux (2 sites), Plymouth, Dickinson (2 sites), Osceola, Emmet, Cerro Gordo, Humboldt, Pocahontas, Bremer.

Comment: Majority of samples were collected by Paul Bockenstedt.

Description:
Northern Iowa Germplasm was developed by bulking samples followed by a regeneration cycle executed at the University of Northern Iowa Tallgrass Prairie Center where plots were separated via distance of circa 1,500 feet from other Solidago rigida plots. Original seed was collected from remnant prairies in the northern one-third of counties in Iowa.
