Narrative
Deciduous herbaceous perennial with flat overlapping leaves 25 to 40 cm long. Fruit is an upright capsule borne on a stalk of 60 to 80 cm tall. Often found in the cracks between boulders, usually associated with Leptopus chinensis, Elscholtzia stauntonii, Spiraea trilobata, Caragana sp., Lespedeza bicolor, Syringa pekinensis, and Spiraea pubescens.
