Environment description: Full sun (except for shading from taller prairie plants) on flat ground. Dark, loamy soil with some gravel and a little clay, fair to good drainage.
Number of plants sampled: 1
Associated species: Aquilegia canadensis, Aster laevis, Penstemon sp., Monarda fistulosa, Quercus macrocarpa, Ratibida pinnata, Silene regia, Silphium terebinthinaceum, Solidago rigida, and other tallgrass prairie plants.
Comment: Rare population abundance with irregular distribution. ~7 plants found on a 1/2 acre site.
