Perennial with long crouching/creeping roots; leaf 2-7 mm wide, plain or rolled, upper side covered densely with aciculae or very short filaments, spikelet glume-subulate, on the spine rough, basal floral glume 7-11 mm long, brownish-green, more or less pubescent, pointed tip as long as 4 mm.
