Environment description: Shaded. 25% slope with a northwestern aspect. Organic soil in eroding limestone with high stoniness, well to good drainage. Associated with black maple, elm, alternate leaved dogwood, Hepatica, and Aquilegia.
Comment: Locally abundant population (but may be just a limited number of clones) with uniform distribution.
