Narrative
Phsha(tav) terev tandzeni - Pyrus elaeagrifolia found in a homestead of town Tsaghkadzor in Kotayk Marz (Province). The tree is tall (8 meters height); crown is rounded; branches are gray and thorny. Leaves are counter ovate, looking like skin, shaggy from below. Fruits are 2 to 3 cm in diameter; green yellowish; edible when they pass a long time processing. Pulp is firm and has industrial usage. Fruits ripen in September - October; hardy to frosts and diseases. --collection notes sent by Samvel Gasparian on wild and cultivated fruits of Armenia, Ministry of Agriculture, Republic of Armenia, 2002.

according to W. Greuter (pers. comm. via e-mail on 29 Apr 2011), this name was likely intentionally based on the Greek "elaeagros" meaning wild olive tree, not "elaeagnos", and thus the original spelling is not a correctible orthographic error
