Narrative
Spitaki 2 - Wild Caucasian pear; found in village of Khachakap in Lori Marz (Province). It is a tall tree (12 meters height) with wide pyramid shape crown; branches are gray and thorny. Leaves are shiny from above, shaggy from below, round; entire blade, petiole is thin and longer than the leaf. I has buckler (shield) cluster of flowers. Fruit is rounded and very small, 1 to 2 cm in diameter. --collection notes sent by Samvel Gasparian on wild and cultivated fruits of Armenia, Ministry of Agriculture, Republic of Armenia, 2002.
