Narrative
GpaG (A. kolomikta x A. chinensis). The seed parent for the male (GpaG) is 'Aromatnaya.' This and the other interspecific hybrid crosses were made in 1996 (using pollen from blossoms provided by Roger Meyer) and seeds were planted in 1997 and 1998. This is the most cold-hardy interspecific hybrid of the bunch and has taken -20 F without any signs of injury. The growth habit is similar to that of A. kolomikta (fairly compact). The blossoms are quite fragrant and abundant. Here it blooms after A kolomikta and a few days before A. arguta (as do the other interspecific hybrids that have flowered).
