Narrative
Seed propagated, highly freeze tolerant relative to other bermudagrasses, and has good turf quality. Adapated throughout the U.S. where bermudagrass is grown, but is best adapted to the northern half of the zone of bermudagrass use and is expected to perform best relative to other turf bermudagrass cvs. in this region. Produces a dense, dark green, relatively fine-textured sod. Good resistance to spring dead spot disease (Ophiosphaerella herpotricha). Seedling and mature plants grow more slowly than many seed-propagated bermudagrass cvs. such as NuMex Sahara and other cvs. emanating from bermudagrass naturalized to the southwestern U.S.

Description:
Synthesized from six clonal parent plants (18-10, 24-6, 43-10, 49-5, 49-10) selected in 1990 from a broad genetic base population which had undergone two cycles of recurrent selection for increased fertility and turf quality. The breeding population had been developed in the early 1980's from winter hardy germplasm accessions and breeding lines identified as having seed production capability.
