Narrative
Selection of standard Russet Norkotah (ND9526-4 Russ x ND9687-5 Russ). Slightly later maturity period than standard Russet Norkotah. Primarily used for fresh market; good for baking; poor to moderate for boiling with some after cooking discoloration; poor for chipping. Long to slightly oblong with smooth, dark tan, russetted skin; numerous, shallow bright golden eyes that are evenly distributed; white flesh; low to medium specific gravity; higher yielding than standard Russet Norkotah. Attractive appearance; uniform tuber size and shape; wide adaptability; resistant to hollow heart and Columbia root-knot nematode; moderately resistance to common scab, silver scurf, potato leafroll virus and potato virus Y; less nitrogen usage than standard Russet Norkotah.
