Environment description: Sand dunes with drifting fine brown sand, some plants covered. Level ground (edge) and upper slopes (crests) of sand dunes. Poor nutrient content, no salinity, and imperfect drainage. Tillage would be unaffected by stoniness. Associated with cedar trees.
Number of plants sampled: 50
Comment: Uniform, scattered population of 200 over large area 0.25 to 0.5 mile.
