Environment description: Understory cut to ground every several years, mixed pinus and hardwood overstory, site seasonally wet, acid, silty soils, with deciduous Rhododendron sp., Vaccinium pallidum, Vaccinium stamineum scattered
Comment: Rubus hispidus very abundant (typical for such sites) other Rubus spp. common (a few bear some evedince of at least introgression with R. canadensis
