Environment description: Mixed deciduous/coniferous forest. Southern Aspect. Parent rock welded volcanic tuff, with soil type Fertile sandy loam with clay. Growing in a valley bottom in a valley bottom.

Comment: Associate plants: Juglans ailanthifolia, Tilia japonica, Maackia amurensis var. buergeri and Acer mono. This is the North end of its range.
