Environment description: Near a bridge crossing of the Balt River, a small tributary of the Onon River. Riparian site on a river flood plain. Soils are water-deposited rock and gravel, subject to annual disturbance from water and ice. 2% slope with a north aspect.
Comment: Riparian shrubs and small trees (Salix, Populus and alder) with areas of water deposited silt having Leymus, Agropyron, Achillea, and legume species.
