Environment description: Gravel bars, sloughs, and adjacent river terraces along east bank of Balgt River, Salix & Populus trees along river channel. Soils are dark with little rock or gravel present except along river channel. 1% slope with a northeast aspect.
Comment: Salix dominated-vegetation along river. Vegetation along valley terraces is typical grass steppe in a forest steppe ecological zone. Many plant species are sucessional following fire.
