Environment description: Well-drained, gravelly, clay soil, full sun on an exposed ridge; with Buddleja sp., Quercus spinosa, bamboo, Hydrangea sp., Lespedeza sp., Corylus sp., Fraxinus sp., Rubus sp., and other herbaceous species.
Comment: Slope 45% aspect E, single and multi-stemmed, deciduous trees with upright rounded habit. 5-8 meters tall. bark gray with patches of white, smooth.
