Locality: Top of Cajon Pass 3 mi. south of intersection of #395 with #15, just off #15 at Oakhill Rd. exit, on the north side of #15.

Environment description: Transition between desert and chaparral, above the joshua trees. Associated with some type of oak. Found in a reentrant leading down to a wide draw with joshua trees in the bottom.
Comment: P. ilicifolia is in the same location and not yet flowering at time of collection. No plants of this species were taken.
