Narrative
Type = plum Bred by Luther Burbank in 1906 as a complex hybrid between Prunus simonii, Prunus salicina, Prunus americana, Prunus cerasifera and others. This cultivar has long been regarded as one of Burbank's best creations, with commercial production continuing for over a century. It has a tendency to throw bud sports and many mutations of it have been propagated.
