Narrative
Type = Cherry. From "Comparison of Mazzard, Mahaleb and Hybrid Rootstocks for `Montmorency' Cherry (Prunus cerasus L.)" by M.N. Westwood, A.N. Roberts, H.O. Bjornstad: P. mahaleb untolerant of poorly drained soils, recommended for light soils instead; tart cherries generally perform well on rootstock; restant to bacterial canker; observed ease of vegetative propagation by layerage; induces good growth and high yield.
