Comment: Miklos Faust, USDA-ARS, brought the cultivar back to Beltsville from Hungary. Plants were provided to Fumi Takeda ,USDA-ARS at Kearneysville W.Virginia, and from there to Ed Mashburn of Northumberland, Pennsylvania to NCGR-Corvallis.

This cultivar is used as a rootstock for gooseberry or currant propagation. Gooseberry or currant "trees" that are 1.5 to 2 m tall are used for production acreages in Europe. This selection was made in Hungary.
