Environment description: Rich organic moist soil near a stream in a cool valley, protected from sun and wind; with Aconitum sp., Angelica sp. , D. parviflora, C. mandshurica, U. macrocarpa, Acer mono, H. bretschneideri, R. crataegifolium and M. struthiopteris.
Comment: Deciduous, multi-trunked upright vase-shaped tree 8 to 10 m tall; 19.4 to 27.6 cm DBH; pinnately compound and beginning to develop yellow and orange fall color; fruit on ground, white, round, 0.5 cm diameter with dark glandular dots.
