Environment description: Growing in shade beneath other plants on hilltop in an area recently cutover (in the past 10 years); there is dense vegetation with high competition. Slope: 3%. Aspect: west.
Comment: Growing in associatino with Elaeagnus sp., Saliz sp., Indigofera sp., Lindera obtusiloba, bamboo, Lindera sp., Spiraea sp., Symplocos paniculata, Aralia sp., Populus sp., and numerous herbaceous species.
