Environment description: Scattered along roadside, mostly in partial shade. Piedmont hardwood canopy in the woods on both sides. Growing in full sun about 80 feet above the bridge. Competing with sericea lespodeza and bermuda grass.
Comment: Location about 1 mile from a University of North Carolina herbarium collection site in 1957.
