Locality: Highway 10, 3.6 miles east of junction with highway 21 at Oak Hill, Alabama. Old home site on right side of road. Mobil home removed from site fairly recently.

Environment description: Large oaks predominate the site. One very large colony of strawberry next to the woods at the rear of the site in shade. Vigorous, profuse runnering. Also a few plants away from the main colony. Very fertile soil.
Comment: Plants superficially bear some resemblence to cultivated strawberries. However, leaflet size and pediole diameter and lenght are not typical for cultivated strawberries growing in shade, especially in fertile soil.
