One of the three first blue honeysuckle cultivars developed at St. Petersburg VIR station. This cultivar was released in 1980. At that time the breeding program was at its initial stages. The three cultivars that were named were the best F1 and F2 seedlings of native collected wild blue honeysuckle from the Kamchatka Peninsula.
