Locality: Low range of mountains paralleling Herlen River to the south.
Coordinates: 47.4183, 111.5108 (Map it)
Elevation: 960m.
Environment description: Mountain-grass steppe. Brown chestnut soils, good fertility, and highly productive. Aspect south, slope 10%.
Comment: Winter range for livestock, now empty. Many different species inhabit microsites formed by rocks and steep slopes that are relatively inaccessible to livestock. Dominant vegetation: Spiraea rubescens, Caragana microphylla.
