Locality: Winter camp in low range of mountains south of Herlen River. Appears to be highly productive grass steppe, much of bottomland used for cutting hay.

Elevation: 808m.
Environment description: Grass steppe. Soils in bottom deep and fertile. Aspect southeast, slope 5%.
Comment: No livestock or human populatin in area. Dominant vegetation: Leymus chinensis, Cleistogenes squarrosa.
