Narrative
Improved derivative of Hycrest. Selected for improved leafiness, vegetative vigor, and growth under cold temperatures. Excellent winter hardiness and resistance to drought, and noted for excellent stand-establishment vigor on harsh range sites. Produces significantly more forage under cold temperatures than Hycrest, and seedling vigor on a field site near Logan, Utah was significantly better than Hycrest. Produces abundant forage during the spring and early summer and recommended for semiarid range sites in the Intermountain Region and Great Plains receiving from 20 to 45cm annual precipitation at altitudes up to 2,200m.
