Environment description: Physical site: NE facing upper-slope, 11-40% slope, 1/4 shade, seasonally dry, burned in 1988, currently not grazed or logged, loam soil.

Associated species: Associated species: Sparse open stands of Pinus ponderosa, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Acer glabrum var. douglasii, continuous cover of Bromus tectorum, Festuca viridula, Poa nervosa var. wheeleri, scattered Achillea millefolium, other herbs.
