Environment description: Growing in rich, moist organic soils near a stream in a cool moist valley protected from sun and wind.
Comment: Deciduous, multi-stemmed upright archingshrub to 2 meters tall; stems light brown with some light brown paper-like exfoliating bark; fruit borne on racemes to 10cm long; up to 10 fruit per cluster; fruit bright red, round, 0.5 to 1cm diam.
