Environment description: Growing above road on disturbed rocky, east-facing slope. Growing in very shallow soil above solid rock outcropping. Growing with grasses, Cotinus coggygria, Quercus variabilis, Vitex negundo, Dalbergia hupeana. Hillside coppiced.
Comment: Shrub to 2 m. high. Small evergreen leaves, about 2.5 cm long and 1 cm wide. Underside of leaves covered with white hairs with scattered brown hairs, stems covered with brown hairs. Fruit red. Looks attractive.
