Environment description: Upland woodloand on cool moist north slope with Pinus koraiensis, Acer mono, Betula platyphylla var. mandshurica, Juglans mandshurica, Acer ukurunduense, Corylus heterophylla.
Comment: Bark brown, thin plates; Large forest tree; fruit green upright cones; Height 30meters+; DBH 45cm; Wood used for construction, furniture, same uses as Korean pine, but not as high in quality.
