Environment description: Growing in a shaded understory on a west slope among boulders; in association with Betula davurica, Abelia biflora, Corylus mandshurica, Spiraea sp. and Syringa sp.

Comment: Deciduous, multi-stemmed upright, suckering plants 1.5 to 2.0 meters tall; older stems light tan, dark green young stems; fruit is a bright pink and on a long peducle with a bright orange seed.
