Note from Lon Rombough:
'SIM is the name of the fellow who did the breeding work, with the number simply referring to the selection....Wayne Fuhr did say that the 'comma' shape of the seeds is typical of Amelanchier hybrids, though the pure Amelan chier lacks that shape. The seed is supposed to have simple dormancy (like apples) instead of the double dormancy of Amelanchier.'
