Environment description: Uplands - open longleaf pines. Growing in and around the edge at a small depression. Associated w/ Liquidamber stryciflus, Ilex coriaceae, Ilex glabra, Aronia arbutifolia.
Comment: G. dumosa and V. tinellum also on the uplands in the open along with Potentilla canadensis. Popl. sample of fruit.
